"Today is a day I gave birth to you."

Mari Yamazaki's mother

It's cartoonist's birthday. Her mother, who seldom called her,  made a phone call to her and began like this. "I thought I worked so hard to give birth to you I also deserve congratulations," said she. As for being free and uninhibited, her mother who was a viola player and single mother, had an edge on her. She was not disappointed or discouraged by life. She was not like "mom" and was the most familiar "sample of adults", which has saved her. From "Viola Mom."
