Shouldn't we be scared?

Michio Fukuoka

The sculptor, who once held a solo exhibition on this theme, displayed coffins that have stones and sticks in them with a sense of urgency that people should still be scared and fight even after death. He says that if the mission of art is to detect the irreversible before anyone else, it must be from the countless memories of fear and hunger that cross the sense as a creature before imagination.
